The perfect balance between tradition and modernity
The House of Councillors represents an emblematic architectural achievement that perfectly embodies the balance between tradition and modernity in Tunisian institutional architecture. Designed by the architect Fadhel Limem, this building is distinguished by its purity of lines, its simplicity and its elegance that naturally evoke the values of wisdom associated with this parliamentary institution.
The architect knew how to create a contemporary building that is resolutely in line with its era while drawing inspiration from the rich Tunisian architectural heritage. This sensitive approach allows the building to interact harmoniously with its cultural and historical context, while offering an innovative and distinctive architectural expression.
TPR solutions at the service of democratic transparency
The 52 Horizon curtain wall facade, supplied by TPR and installed by Alutec, is one of the major technical and aesthetic elements of the project. This contemporary facade system offers controlled transparency that symbolizes openness and democratic transparency, while ensuring excellent thermal and acoustic performances essential to the functioning of a parliamentary institution.
The claustras, also made with TPR products, represent a significant architectural element that establishes a direct link with the Tunisian architectural heritage. Reinterpreted in a contemporary language, these elements filter light, creating plays of light and shade that animate interior spaces throughout the day. They also modulate natural light and maintain the privacy necessary for certain spaces.
The balance between simplicity and refinement that characterizes this project perfectly reflects the institutional function of the building. The TPR materials and systems used contribute significantly to the creation of an architecture that, while being resolutely contemporary, is part of a cultural continuity and expresses the dignity and importance of the institution it houses.
