An architectural renaissance in the heart of Tunis
The Etraton is an emblematic building that marked the urban expansion of Tunis and one of its very first business districts. This architectural icon has undergone a complete renovation, giving it a new lease of life while maintaining its distinctive character.
The renovation project, designed by the ARK-architecture agency under the direction of Bilel Khemakhem, transformed this architectural monument into a modern and efficient office building. This intervention highlights the capacity of contemporary architecture to renew and regenerate existing urban heritage.
Technological innovation and energy performance
The facade has been completely redesigned with the use of TPR curtain walls that offer excellent thermal and acoustic performance. The TPR glass and aluminum outer shell creates a game of transparency and reflections that fits perfectly into the urban landscape while symbolizing modernity and innovation.
Large glass surfaces optimize the natural lighting of interior spaces, helping to reduce the building's energy footprint. This approach reflects an architectural design that places sustainability and energy efficiency at the heart of its priorities.
This exemplary renovation demonstrates how a historic building can be revitalized to meet contemporary requirements for comfort, aesthetics, and energy efficiency, while maintaining its distinctive architectural identity.
